Talking Angela: New App is unsafe, raises questions

Talking Angela: New App is unsafe, raises questions

New game apps come out all of the time; Temple Run, Fun Run, Flappy Bird, and Iron Pants. These games got big, fast, and in a good way. There was one children’s game that has gotten big but in a bad way: Talking Angela is the new big game. It’s not bad because it’s a challenging game or because it has great graphics but because it is an inappropriate and weird game.

The initiative of the game is for its audience (it seems to be targeted at children) to interact with “Angela” a talking cat that has a figure of a 21 year old. You could make her feed birds, talk to her, your face will even show up on the screen. The weirdest thing is when you begin to pet her. When you pet her she starts to purr but when you pet it near on an inappropriate place she gives a big purr and winks.  There have been numerous reports of the cat asking children for their addresses and what school they go to. There have also been two or three reports of her asking children “what does your tongue do?”

The things she is asking these children are inappropriate and no one should be playing any types of games like this. This is a sign to keep your children off the phone and into playing outside and being safe.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
