Boys soccer season ends in second round loss

Head Coach Armando Ponce and the Boys’ soccer  CIF title dreams have been crushed as the  team’s playoff run has ended with a defeat at the hands of the Esperanza Aztecs in the CIF playoff quarter finals in front of a disapp9ointed home crowd here on Thursday, Feb. 27th.

Following the win against Paramount in the CIF second round, this game was not a normal game for the Jackets as their offense was not clicking. It seemed like the team’s feet were glued to the ground in the first half, as their defense was falling apart as well. Defender Chris Salgado said, “That game was not a good one for us. Their offense did the talking in that game. We didn’t have an answer to them this time.”

The second half , like in the first half, was a blowout. Colton could not put the sting in their offense. This did not just end the game, but it also ended the season for Colton. Coach Ponce said, “This was a bad game but, we can come back from this. Next year, we will play better and will work harder.”

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
